Sandra Fowler began to write poetry in The Salem Church of West Columbia,
WV about forty-three years ago.
She has had three books of poetry published, one in Israel,
one in the US, and one in India.
She was the Associate Editor of Ocarina from the
late seventies to 1989. Dr. Amal Ghose was the Editor-in-Chief of this
literary venture, published in India, which showcased the work of world
poets in both paperback and hardback.
Ms. Fowler's work has appeared in such publications as
Auraq, Voices Israel, Riverrun, Skylark, Paris/Atlantic, The Lamp-Post
and others.
Her poem, "To Distance" was nominated by Skylark
for the Pushcart Prize in 1998.
She was recently interviewed by the editors of Skylark
of Purdue University Calumet about her life in poetry. The editors who
conducted the interview with Ms. Fowler have been nominated for the
Pushcart Prize.
