Old Saws Revisited

      If you resist the urge to face the facts
      you might evade your fate. Confession isn’t
      good for the soul, it’s good for the prosecution.
      When struck with grief, stick with stage one—denial.
      Preparing for disaster brings disaster;
      brace for the worst and you’ll get a stiff neck.
      Defensive driving gives offensive drivers
      room to maneuver—never yield an inch.
      Throwing money at a problem works
      provided you throw enough. Running away
      from problems also works if you lack money.
      You can live forever, maybe. Repeat after me:
      delay, deny, refuse, avoid, and flee.
