Thank you for posting this, Gail. My favorite English professor used to talk a lot about all the birds flapping through the poetry canon. While I've done some poems about specific birds over the years, I reckon this avian effort counts less as a nature poem than as a poem about poetry. Either way, I'm glad it caught your eye.
