Hello
To all,
Sorry I started posting on the Tanka thread and then stepped away. I had a silent retreat to attend and then my mother passed away. Her funeral is on Monday the 25th.
For those of you who pray, I would appreciate them for my family and the repose of my mother Kathleen's soul. She died at peace; sitting in her favorite chair wrapped in her blanket with Rosary in hand.
God Bless,
Fr. RP

I'm very sorry to hear that. I'll say a Hail Mary for her tonight.

Sorry to hear when a mother dies, the one who sacrificed away her wants and needs, knowing that full appreciation would never be accorded her during her lifetime, as per usual with most mothers then and now. Just make sure that you are not alone, which will take off some of the edge from bereavement, but never completely, because that loss is of one who loved without stipulations, something a wife, no matter how loyal, or a father, no matter how devoted, can never do.

Rob, it seems unfair that at my age, my mom has just given up golf, and at your age, you've lost yours. I'll pray. Congratulations on your winning tanka.

Father Rob, you have my sympathy and condolences. And you and your mother are in my prayers.
I hope you have people around you who are a support to you in a time like this.
Best wishes,
Peter

Thanks all of you. Yes I have people to speak with and pray with (I had a whole convent when I heard the news!) I am in route, I was in Alabama when I got the news, then needed to go t to North Dakota to pick up my brother and nephew. However, plane delays, missed transfers and exhaustion have made it so that I am still not there. At least I'm finally in Wisconsin and about 4 hrs away from Crandon (where the funeral is.)
God Bless,
Fr. RP

My condolences to you and your family. May God grant you grace and peace. I pray that you will soon get some much-needed rest as well.
