Default Good News!

Hi,

I've just tried to find Jayne's Good News thread, but it seems to have vanished. I hope it's okay I'm starting a new one; happy for Staff to shift as they see fit.

Today's good news on Planet F. is that my poem 'Moppet's Meteorite' (on Met) has somehow found its way to the Natural History Museum, where it's found a lot of favour with Professor Sara Russell, and also with Prof. Russell's children. Hooray!

Best wishes,
Fliss

Congratulations, Fliss and Coo! Good to see our work entering the real world!

My good news: my MS. is moving forward with Cambridge and today, we’re off to an apple orchard!

Cheers,
John

Thanks, John! Yes, good to get out there :-)

Really pleased for you re. the MS with CUP. And we hope you have a wonderful time in the apple orchard. My parents have a little orchard at the end of their garden and it's a delight. The guineas often enjoy playing there. When they come to visit, Moppet and her friends love it too.

Cheerie,
Fliss & Coo :>)

Hi Fliss,

My Good News 2 thread can be found here but I've moved this thread to The Accomplished Members board, which is the place to announce publishing or literary successes.

The Good News 2 thread is for more personal news about family etc.

Congratulations on your poem's success!

Jayne

I'm a little confused about the purppose of this thread, Fliss. Sara Russel appears to be a scientist. Has the Museum accepted the poem for publication in one of their joiurnals, or are you simply informing us that your mother sent the poem to a friend, and the friend liked it?

In other words, what Nemo - and others - said on the original thread.

Michael, I posted the news in General Talk because I felt that was appropriate. However, as it turns out, the movement of the thread to TAM is apt because the poem has just been accepted for publication in a poetry journal.*

Jayne, thank you! A lot of happy people in Winchcombe at the moment, as you may imagine <(:-)

And thanks also to Cam and John Riley!

Best wishes,
Fliss

*Unfortunately I'm not permitted to name this journal on the 'sphere. Jayne, does that mean the thread should be deleted? No problem at all if so; I have other channels :-) x

Is the journal particularly secretive? Or is the sphere to blame?
Congratulations again!

Oh, Cam. It has to do with a rule listed in Eratosphericals.

Jayne, thanks for locking the thread on Met. If you feel it best to delete it, or to delete this thread, I shall understand. 'Me too' :>)

But before that happens, I'd just like to thank everyone who supported the poem, which was first posted on D&A <(:-)
