Default David Mason Pacific Light

Today in Australia, and tomorrow in the US, is the official publication date of Dave's new collection, Pacific Light. It is an extraordinary book by a beloved poet. I truly believe he is one of the best poets writing in the world today. Don't take my word for it. Get hold of the book. You can get it through Red Hen Press, or Amazon of course if that's more convenient.

And for those who read my swim poem recently, you might enjoy knowing that the press chose one of my photos taken during a swim for the book cover.

Dive in!

Hurray for both poems and cover art. The book sounds very interesting from the info on the website - I love the thought of reflecting on such a long, long geographical displacement and it makes me wonder about whether the poems explore that space between 'easy' notions of geographical distance and emotional distance.

Either way, I will buy and find out although there will be a little wait as I have overspent my budget this Summer and need to replenish funds.

Thanks, everyone!

Hallelujah, Nemo!

Walter, my love—the launch is at Fullers Book Shop in Hobart on 16 September, and we'd love you to come (if wishes were fishes)!!!

But the really exciting thing we're doing differently this time is that we're making a short film about the book, about 20 minutes long. The film maker is in the final stages of editing now, so it will be available to view in time for the launch!

Thanks Chris! I'll pass this on to Davey. Hope you're well! We were going through all our Amherst photos the other day . . . great memories . . .

Thanks, Sarah—when you get to read the book, I hope you find it satisfying. It certainly fills my heart to bursting!

I'll post the link to the film here as soon as it's made public.

Cally
