Wednesday 8 February, 6pm, St Edmund Hall

On Monday 6 February, Alicia is reading Manchester. The UK publisher of her Selected, Carcanet, is in Manchester. I’ll be there myself, having driven over the Pennines with a poet-friend of mine (a good friend and a very fine poet) who lives four villages away from us here in Yorkshire. It’s a long time since I was last in Alicia’s company (Spetses, 2004), though we have often been in touch since our days as moderators here in the early 2000s. I’m looking forward to the occasion.

Clive

Enjoy, Cam and Clive!

BTW, I notice that nominations for the Oxford Professorship of Poetry open February 10, 2023, and close March 17, 2023. I hope the visibility of these readings will help her to win this time! (Assuming that this is a convenient time for her to take the job.)

Oh, I WISH I had known about this sooner...

I have a (small) reading myself at 2pm on Wednesday 8th, for a local Over 60s club, so I can't get to Oxford in time. Bummer. I'd give my right arm to be at Alicia's reading!!!!

I said to her hello from Eratosphere, and from Ryan Wilson and Matthew Buckley Smith.
