Very satisfying review, Siham, with enough excerpts from the poems themselves to prove that you know what you are talking about. I have been meaning to order Gail's book (because I know that I will enjoy it) but have been busy, so this is just the prod I needed to go ahead and do so.

Siham,

I enjoyed reading this when it hit my inbox last night; you make a strong case, and now I have another book to add to my wish list. I did wonder if there was a typo in Sudden Euphoria of a Middle-Aged Southerner, where "where's it springing from, this sudden joy" seemed more likely than "where it's springing from".

best,

Matt

Had a look at my copy of Gail's collection, and you're right, Matt.

Thanks, Matt, for your eagle eye. I've corrected it now on the website, and my apologies.

Thanks, Susan! So glad the article was a "nudge."

I am in the midst of reading it now, and it is delightful.

I read my copy from (gorgeous) cover to (gorgeous) cover in one sitting! (Well, actually, in one lying - I was in bed at the time )

Bravo, Gail!
