Aaron, yesterday I started reading your book, American Divine. After reading and listening today to "Incarnate" at National Review, I picked up your book again, and, there, on the very next page I turned to (page 7) was the poem! A remarkable coincidence, I thought.

Congratulations, Aaron. Anthropologically rich--the relationship in ritual between divinity and sacrificial victim.

Welcome to the conservative Republican payroll! I know what a rush that first NR debut is, so congratulations. One of the finest reader letters I ever received came from a left-wing, Democrat professor at an Ivy League college who confessed that while he despises the magazine and its politics, overall, he ignores the liberal magazines and buys "National Review" religiously, because poetry in the major, national left-wing magazines is terrible. His words, not mine
Bravo.
