Thanks Ralph! I’m immensely grateful for all the help I got on the poem when I workshopped it here a few months ago.

I haven’t been able to post much here lately (or write much poetry), but I’m hoping to get a little time to catch my breath soon, and hopefully re-engage.

Yay! I remember that for me the crux was to have the twins as contrasts but not so much in opposition, so the "he, too" is very much needed!

I remember this. It's strong and affecting I love the line where the boy "shouts his news to strangers when he’s proud." That has real memories for me.

Hi all,

Thank you for all your kind words - I really appreciate it. Yes, Yves, you kept encouraging me to make sure the poem felt balanced between the boy and the girl - thank you. I think Julie offered “He, too...” in particular. I got a lot of help on this one, and I’m grateful for it.

Here’s the link to the poem directly for when it leaves the front page of Autumn Sky: https://autumnskypoetrydaily.com/202...coleman-glenn/

It is Very nice, and reminds me of some children I know. In a good way.

Coleman, that is wonderful! (And, assuming it's based on your real life--a big assumption--I can say our second-borns have a lot in common. )
