Strokestown International Poetry Contest
Hi Folks,
I'm on the shortlist for the Strokestown International Poetry Contest. You can read the poem here: http://www.strokestownpoetry.org/str...ed-poems-2017/
It is interesting, because the poem has been revised quite a bit since then--has a different ending and is less over-the-top with its irony.
In any case, wish me luck!
Best, Tony

Hey, Tony, I've read four of them so far, yours is tops at the moment.
I hope you win.

That's a fine poem, Tony. I even forgive it for not rhyming.

This poem is brilliant. Winning the prize would be a feather in their cap for choosing such a fantastic piece. As for you, your name being attached to this bodes well for being remembered past the century mark. In other words, I like it. Bigly.
Congrats,
Siham

Very good conceit, Tony - and I loved "Nirvana left on the last bus."

Hey, Tony, I read them all.
"Cherry Stones" by Jacqueline Saphra, and "The Life I left" by Pnina Shinebourne , are your strongest competition, I think. I still think yours is the most complicated, well written and most meaningful of all. I think your chances are excellent.
Good luck,
charlie.

Thanks, Siham, Nigel, Charlie, John.
Well, I can tell you that as a poor poet I wouldn't mind the prize
Thanks a lot, T

Tony,
I would say that your poem is a real tour de force, but I'm afraid that my comment would be delisted.
