Thanks, Diana.

'Chuffed' (delighted) could easily be confused with 'chuff all' (f**k all), I suppose.

Regarding the £20.00 Speccie win, I didn't spend it on a curry, after all; I had a £19.99 fillet steak, so when the cheque arrives it will find me needing to 'spend a penny' (go for a pee!), which dates from the time that public toilets in the UK were operated by putting an old penny in a slot in the door, pre-1971 decimilisation.

So I was wondering whether 'I need to spend a penny' has crossed the Atlantic.

Ah, foiled again. Methinks I over elaborated with this effort

NEVS FROM THE VORDSMITHS GRAPEWINE

According to Wirginia Voolf,
the transposition of v’s and w’s
in poetry is ewer to be awoided.
It veakens the rewiwal of interest in forms
such as the willanelle and the clerihev,
renders the wocal deliwery of wovels
non-wiable and makes vholehearted dewotees
of Villiam Vordsvorth vhimper and womit.
In a vord, there is nothing vorse in werse.
