Just horrible news. This came as a big shock to me. I’d just finished my treatment and she was just starting hers the last time we talked back in June, I think. I liked her immensely. And really enjoyed reading her work. My condolences to you and your family. I will miss her.

I can’t say how sad I am to hear this, John. I’m sorry for your loss and for ours as well. Alexandra and I always agreed on everything—except when she critiqued me, and then she could be tough. It was an ideal combination. She told us she had a battle ahead, but the strength I felt in her last posts told me to expect her return. I’ve missed her for the last three months and will go on missing her.

I absolutely loved the last two pieces Alexandra posted here, the Window poem and the Moon poem. She seemed both a very intelligent and a very lovely person. This is such sad news and I offer my condolences.
