About the Last Pruning and Your PMs, and Posts on the Workshop Forums
Dear Eratosphereans,
There was an error that occurred during the last pruning attempt of the workshop forums (i.e., mainly the poetry and fiction forums). As a result, those forums were left with only about two threads each.
I have now restored (almost) everything that was lost. Unfortunately, the latest backup I restored from was from yesterday, June 30, 2024, timestamped at 4:37 p.m. EDT. This means that anything posted after that time or any PM received after that time is unrecoverably lost. If you made a post or sent a PM after that time, please try to redo the post or PM if possible.
My sincere apologies to all for this mishap!
Cheers,
...Alex

"Hands up time"; it was my fault, folks. All it took was one errant digit in the configuration of the pruning, to mess it up! As soon as I became aware of what I'd done I messaged my hero, Alex, and he was able to (mostly) undo it.
All hail our esteemed leader!
It was a careless mistake which won't happen again. Alex was gentle with me, so I hope you'll all forgive me too, for any inconvenience.
Cheers,
Jayne

Thanks so much to both of you, you're brilliant. Every time something goes wrong I get a little shock and remind myself not to take this amazing place for granted.

That's really kind of you, Mark. Thank you; it means a lot!
I can sleep easy tonight, knowing Alex saved the day, and my little slip-up didn't have catastrophic results.

Coming to this thread late although I had noticed the glitch at the time. Alex, your curation of this forum is deeply appreciated by me. When things like this happen it pulls back the curtain and reveals the real beating heart of this place. Jayne, without your vigilance and dedication and compassionate moderation this would be a different place. Laborers of love, you two!

Jim,
That's such a lovely thing to say! Thank you so much, it made my day.
(Not deliberately intended to rhyme. )
