I think today's Trump-driven GOP is basically nihilist.
Cheers,
John

This act of malice will be battled in court and, if the majority of the U.S. still has a conscience and votes out the most destructive president ever, it will be overturned.
Or, we could send Trump out to Grizzly country to negotiate in person with the bears. He’s so brave and tough, I’m sure he could face them unarmed and tell them his plans for allowing them to go extinct so rich people can get even richer.

This was a pre-emptive attack on human civility and love of life. We're all endangered now. Take cover in the voting booth. Don't come out until you've voted twice. Vote. Vote.

Here's some more about the subject:

The folks in the Trump administriation are shortsighted and obviously don’t like animals (or plants or even the human species, since these kinds of actions will ultimately affect us as well as the rest of the biosphere).

To weigh the preservation of threatened species against the financial benefit of their demise is by far the most absurd policy I ever heard outside of science fiction. Heeding fiction over science, Trump is imperiling everything under the sun, becoming more and more an 80’s cartoon villain incarnate, it seems. This is why California is now having to pass a law just to shield itself from Trump's war on clean air, clean water, endangered species, endangered workforce, you name it. A law designed just for the Trump presidency, says this article.

Thank you, Erik, for posting that link from the Sacramento Bee! Let us pray (in whatever way you want to interpret that word) or meditate for the furtherance of this project. Charity begins at home, in the US. Now.

Allen, when I stumbled on that article in the Sacramento Bee, it was a welcome bright spot to me likewise. Pray indeed that this state enacts her wide-reaching law and perhaps others even follow suit. Cali has been a state-law vanguard and trendsetter before (e.g., I know many a law in Oregon copied her example in the past for good or ill; though in this case, it would absolutely be for good!)
Cheers,
Erik
Jerome, nice squib. How I love that witty metonym at the end! Well done!
Cheers,
Erik
