Tribute to Ann Drysdale
Hello everyone,
We've just had an amazing Zoom meeting, across both sides of The Pond, to share memories and anecdotes of our dear, departed friend. Many of Annie's wonderful poems were read by those who knew her either personally or as virtual friends. Whatever was the nature of our relationship, we were all agreed that she will be greatly missed, both here at Eratosphere and to the poetry world in general. On a personal level, I will miss Annie very much; we were good friends.
I'd like to thank all those who selected a poem, or several, to read to the assembled group. Annie touched all of us, individually and collectively. She was, without a doubt, a remarkable person, a fine poet and a wonderful friend.
The Zoom meeting was recorded, so everyone will be able to see it in due course. Details of Annie's funeral are yet to be announced. Meanwhile, best regards, and condolences, to her family and close friends.
Jayne

Yes, it was a lovely gathering.
Annie was remarkable in so many ways, not least in the fact of her uncanny ability to unite so many disparate souls through her capacious humanity.

She was a Wonderful Intelligence. Whenever I met her on this website: I grinned. I choked, for a second, when I heard of her death. In a way: she was a benign symbol of this place.

Glad to hear that there will be a video, as I had to back out owing to some kind of equipment failure. I suppose sub-titles are too much to expect, but I'll want to view it anyway.

And guess what? Our Annie is a winner in The Oldie competition this month! Going out with a bang, that's our Annie. I'm sure she would have approved of such a parting shot, bless her!
(On a more serious note, I will inform them of the sad news.)
