Default Studies in Philology

Alright, I know that the spirit of the Accomplished Members forum is for published poems...but in light of the recent Musing on Mastery thread that got a lot of traction, I figured I'd mention that I just had an article on Shakespeare's Sonnets accepted to Studies in Philology. This is one of the premier academic journals for my field, and has published a lot of great scholars in its nearly 120-year history. My article is on Sonnet 146 in particular, with a focus on how editorial tradition has typically assumed that the doubled words in the poem's second line (as first printed in the 1609 Quarto) are an error. I challenge this assumption. I've had other academic publications (including one earlier this year on Sonnet 145 in Critical Survey), but this one feels pretty special.

For what it's worth, the issue won't be printed for a year, as that's pretty much the standard lead time for academic publishing. But it's still exciting.

Congratulations, Shaun!

If it at some point it wouldn't be unethical to share the article with non-subscribers, I'd love to read it.

Thanks, Max! Alas, it's not unethical, but actually a breach of contract to share that way. Once it comes out next year, though, if you remain interested you can PM me and I'll send along one of my contributor copies. I receive 5 which is probably, 3 more than I really need...

Thank you, Shaun! Will do. (Though you don't always seem to check your PMs.)

Again, congrats.
