Hi everyone,
I've been around long enough now that I wanted to mention the book I completed this year. It was originally self-published in 2020 (mainly for friends and family), and then a number of edits were made over the ensuing years thanks to the thoughtful critiques of members here. I finally had enough time to bring it to 'completion' this year. I say 'completion' because there are still a few poems I'm not happy with, but I eventually gave up and wanted to move on.
I'd add a caveat to anyone interested in a copy that not every word in the title is gold. This is my first public book, and much of it was written when I was more of an amateur. But I do believe that there is some interesting poetry in this thing. At the very least those who've followed the few poems I've posted can see what I've been up to. The price for a hard copy is high, unfortunately this is due to manufacturing costs at the press, but there is a cheaper PDF option available. I haven't had time to get a high quality copy up on Amazon.
As for the book, it can be found here:
Beyond Love: Selected Poems 2006 - 2020
The first two sections of the title were born out of a time when I had an interest in instinct and how it plays a part in romantic relationships. An intersection between poetry and philosophy. The third section is an unthemed selection from the same period, and the fourth dates back to 2006 and some of my earliest poetry. If anyone does buy a copy I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Lastly, I want to underline how grateful I am for the critiques I've been given here. Hopefully I'm at least a slightly stronger writer than I was a few years ago.
Thanks again
