Thanks, Marybeth. On my way home from West Chester, I was listening to the
Poetry Out Loud tape that Dana Gioia gave as a freebee to anyone who wanted it. M. Scott Momaday recites "Thirteen Ways of Looking at a Blackbird" and says "I have known noble accents / and lucid inescapable
rhymes." When I heard that, about halfway home, I said, "Good God, have I been misreading that line all my life, and is the title of my journal based on an error?" Then I checked the text and found that the mistake was Momaday's, not my own. It is "lucid inescapable
rhythms."
Whew!
