I have a new article Free Verse and the Modernists at Associated Content. By all means, check it out and make grumbling comments about how these bastards ruined things for metrical poets. Though, when I think about it, a lot of Stevens is blank verse. I guess it's just how bizarre everything he wrote is that makes him fit in the Modernist camp.

I posted an autobiographical story on my blog. I wouldn't usually link to my blog like this, but I actually wrote this with a semi-literary intent, so I'd be interested in any feedback. Thanks.

I now have a blog on the Wordpress. I remember back when blogging first got popular and I was all indignant over people shortening "web log" to "blog"---I thought you might as well call it a bjournal, which would be just as much a nonsense word. But I've softened a bit now. I reckon I'll write about poetry related things there from time to time, so check it if you're interested.

I've recently taken up freelance writing in order to generate a bit of cash. Usually I do it for sites that want articles on things like brown rugs or recipe ideas, but I've been using Associated Content for a few things I've come up with on my own of late. They don't pay much upfront (unlike the other sites) and you only get like an eighth of a cent per click, but at least you get to keep your name on the thing. I figure I'll try to get some more readers, and then use that as credentials for...

Ah, I really hate to do this sort of thing, but I'll swallow my pride and do it. If anyone has any thoughts about the poem I posted in the Deep End forum called Tanabata, I'd be really interested to hear them. Stephen seemed to think it was a failed experiment, and for all I know it might be, but I'd like to get a few more opinions before I scrap it. Especially since I am quite fond of it myself, since, as Stephen pointed out, it was inspired by my other major interest, Japanese comics or manga....
