Not available on Amazon UK yet.
Perhaps you'd post when it is and I'll buy it.
Grumpily,
David

Congratulations to all - looking forward to both the poems and the illustrations. Jim showed us one of James Joyce when he was at my reading in New York last year (Hayes was at the reading, that is, not Joyce, or at least there was some Irishman there who claimed he was Jim Hayes), and it was wonderful - but the Clock & Rose site has the problems Rose mentioned - plus, when I click to order, it displays a previous buyer's info. I'll see if it is fixed by Monday, and if not order through Amazon.

Congratulations to all. Will look for it when it is published. I loved reading children's books to my kids. No grandkids yet to read to, but I'm hoping for the best.

My sincere thanks to kind friends and colleagues who have wished us well, I know we are all very appreciative.

A problem has arisen in marketing the book through Amazon. Essentially Amazon insist on a discount of 55% off list and then stock on a just-in-time basis. Simply put, this is not economically viable. What the publisher has decided to do is jack up the price to Amazon, this being the only way she can protect a reasonable margin, otherwise her take is only 50 cents per book sold to them. The list price established at $39.95 will be maintained at Roses Books and at all Amazon sub sites, in the hope that Amazon with be forced at some stage to adopt a more reasonable price structure.

I note than Michael, Rose and probably a few more people have experienced difficulties in negotiating the Roses Books site,
I have reported the details but in the meantime Renee will be delighted if anyone would care to ring her at 508 432 1749 or email to renee@roses-books.com when she will arrange immediate dispatch.

Jim

I had no apparent problem ordering from the publisher site. I even got email telling me it had shipped, though it hasn't arrived yet.

I'm not sure I understand, though. Are you saying that the $39.95 price is only for Amazon? I was under the impression that I was paying this to the publisher, as well (plus $5 for shipping). Although the confirmatory email from the publisher said:

The Bad Habits of Little Boys
$ 39.95 (used only for insurance)

I wondered what "used only for insurance" meant.

Anyway, details details details. I just want my copy to arrive!

No Bob, the price $39.95 is applicable to Roses Books, the price on the main Amazon site initially, until they alter their pricing policy, will be in the region of $70

Congratulations on what must be one hell of a book! I can buy just about anything out by Wilbur, Espaillat, Stallings, Mason, or Hecht on Amazon for about $15 US. I guess the CD and illustrations make the difference.

Carol
